Our story
Van Antwerp’s story kicks off with two high school buddies bonded by their love for different music genres – one into classical tunes, the other a rock aficionado. Their shared interest in guitars bridged the gap between classical elegance and rock energy.
When Edward Van Halen passed away, they made a pact to start a Van Halen tribute band. The bassist role fell into place for one, while the classical music enthusiast seamlessly transitioned into lead guitarist.
Luck played its part when another guitarist and skilled drummer, conveniently residing in the same apartment block, joined in. Their rhythm section solidified, creating the foundation for the band’s sound.
The search for a vocalist ended with an old high school friend, a handsome fella with a shared musical taste. Together, they formed ‘Van Antwerp,’ a Belgian tribute from Antwerp, combining their shared history, musical passion, and a nod to their hometown.
And so, the band was born, a straightforward journey from high school dreams to an authentic tribute band, honoring the rock legacy of Van Halen.
